Municipal Defense

The economic downturn, increasing state and federal regulations, complex municipal litigation, and diminishing budgets have made it essential for cities and towns to seek counsel that is not only effective, but also affordable.

Our Municipal and Regulatory Services Practice Group provides a wide range of litigation, dispute resolution, policy development, and investigative services at costs to our municipal clients that are reflective of today’s economic environment.

As counsel to various large and small municipalities, housing authorities, and governmental agencies, our firm assists and advises public officials and boards concerning day-to-day operations as well as initiating and defending litigation on their behalf.

The firm handles all aspects of a municipality’s operations including:

Defending municipalities, police departments, and individual officers from law enforcement liability claims is a significant portion of the Group's work. While our municipal clients benefit from the vast and varied litigation experience of the firm's attorneys, our law enforcement clients gain the additional benefit of the direct law enforcement experiences of the firm's Principal, Andrew R. Crumbie, who served as Chief of Staff to the Connecticut State Police Commissioner and in various other leadership roles in state and federal law enforcement; and also the firm's litigation manager, Henri Alexandre, who served for 25 years as a Connecticut Assistant Attorney General, most recently serving as Department Head for The Connecticut Attorney General.
